Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Montreat College.
Adjunct Instructor
The interview was pretty straightforward and had two stages. It was a really positive experience because the university has a Christ-centered environment and that's something they look for in employees. They really make sure to integrate Christian values into what they teach and want instructors who can help students become faith-based professionals.
- How would you utilize scriptures in your teaching curriculum?
- Can you explain how an applicant would integrate scripture into their curriculum?
Admissions Representative
I was contacted by Search Solutions Group for this role. The whole process took about three weeks. It started with a skype interview, then an in-person interview, and finally, a presentation with the president. The first two interviews were with the head of Admissions, and the Dean of Adult Studies. The last interview was with the president who ultimately decided I wasn't the best fit.
- Can you easily approach and converse with new people?
Librarian
The automated phone interview was easy and not intimidating. This was a preliminary stage, and I'm still waiting to hear back about the official interview. It was nice that I could go at my own pace. It was a recorded interview, which made it less nerve-wracking.
- Can you share an instance where you had to collaborate with someone challenging?
Academic Advisor
Had a phone chat with the department director, then met in person with the director and the VP, and finally met the president face to face. They asked some standard interview questions and then some that were more specific to testing your aptitude for the job.
- Describe a situation where someone approached you with a problem and explain how you handled it.
