First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Monte Nido & Affiliates.
Registered Dietitian
I only had one interview. I met with the clinical director. It was a very casual interview. We chatted about my relevant experience and nutrition philosophy. It felt like a culture fit interview more than an experience interview. However, I do have relevant experience so she might have just been checking the boxes.
- How comfortable are you talking with parents?
Recovery Coach
it was a straightforward and to the point process, it did take a while though so be prepared for a long onboarding. they did a phone screening first and then a zoom interview, asking about my experience in mental health, education, and what I would do in certain situations.
- How would you handle a client experiencing a panic attack?
- Can you describe your background in mental health?
- What is your educational background?
Primary Therapist
The interview process was pretty laid-back. I had to chill in the lobby for a good bit before someone came to chat. It seemed like they thought their time was way more valuable than mine, and honestly, it felt like they weren't super keen on getting to know me. The unprofessional part was after the interview, though. Nobody hit me up. I was ghosted, and I reached out twice in about a month and got zero response. It took over a month and another email from me to get a short reply saying I didn't get the job. Two positions were open, and they stayed vacant for ages afterward. In the end, I'm happy I didn't get the job because MNA has become so corporate, I wouldn't be comfortable working there.
- Why are you interested in this line of work?
Recovery Coach
It was pretty easy. Started with a phone screen, then we did a virtual interview. They asked about my past experiences and "what would you do if this happened?" type of questions. Also asked about my relationship with food. They emphasized that strong social skills and the ability to connect with people easily are key for this role. Some knowledge of eating disorders, stigma, and treatments is also needed.
- What actions would you take if a client was experiencing a panic attack or suicidal ideation?
- Can you describe your experience with building rapport with clients?
- What would be your approach if a client presented with a specific challenging situation?
