First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Monjin.
Data Engineer
Got a call about an experienced data engineer role based on my resume. Since they needed someone ASAP, they scheduled the interview according to my availability.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Which SQL joins have you used and can you explain them?
- Could you solve this coding problem?
Software Engineer
This was a fake interview, the interviewer's audio was bad. When I told him, he just typed questions in chat about some random tech specs, not even related to the job description. They shouldn't waste candidates' time testing their platform.
- Can you explain what daemon services are?
- Could you describe the Temporal Dead Zone in Javascript?
- Do you know about Currying in Javascript?
Senior Java Developer
The interview was on a platform from Hexaware. The interviewer knew their stuff and asked questions related to the job description. For 45 minutes straight, it was non-stop questions and answers, covering everything in the JD.
- Can you tell me about your experience with Java?
- Do you have experience with AWS?
- What about your knowledge of Javascript?
Technical Recruiter
Getting scheduled for an interview at Monjin was nothing more than a joke. As a recruiter I was approached by a consulting firm for Monjin. As I was an active Job seeker I was ready to take all opportunities coming my way. I was told that its a Weekend Drive when I arrived at the Venue there was no other candidate except for me. I went through my first round of discussion completely technical, I was told that I was selected. Later that week they again called me for 2nd level discussion saying this would be last only wasn't. Again a Video conference interview with COO (which turned out to be F2f again) After so many discussions they came back saying that the opportunity will be 3 Months Contract. Seriously? In the validation call itself the recruiter pitched me about how opportunity is for a product based company and the employment type is permanent. My very first concern is how the recruiter did not have a clarity on JD? And the second is why pitch candidates from CMM level 5 tier 1 organisations when they cannot match the least expectations of ours? Thirdly the company functions more like a consulting firm where they will only source candidates to get the video interviews done which later to be shared with multiple client (Not sure how the idea willwork out) So if the candidates are getting calls from Monjin Interviews then these job opportunities are virtually created (they'll sell those interviews to multiple clients) Beware!
