Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MoneyLion.
Data Analyst
This was the worst interview experience. It started with a week-long assignment. Then, the in-office interview panel was unprofessional. After all that, there was a lack of response, which is frustrating after putting in so much effort on the assignment. I also noted their unethical business model. I'd only apply if desperate and after checking other negative reviews.
- Be prepared for SQL subquery questions and some statistics.
- The assignment involves using Python for analytics, where you need to explain your step-by-step process and thoughts.
- You'll need to present your assignment during the in-office interview.
Data Analyst
After a Hackerank test, which was likely the most challenging part, there were a couple of video interview rounds. Overall, the interactions with the interviewers were good, and they clearly explained the main responsibilities and expectations.
- What are my main aspirations, and why did I decide on Fintech?
- Do I have any specific goals set for the next couple of years?
- What is my preferred way of working?
Data Analyst
They'll be testing how you think and solve problems. Expect open-ended questions where you'll explain your approach to scenarios, focusing more on the process than just the answer. The questions aren't really right or wrong, they just want to see your reasoning, decision-making, and how adaptable you are. They might give you hints or ask follow-up questions to get you thinking about different parts of the problem. This is to check how you handle new info, uncertainty, and tough situations.
- How would you measure if a marketing event was successful?
- What metrics or criteria would you use to evaluate the effectiveness of a marketing event?
