Behavioral Technical Presentation

A recruiter reached out, and I had a chat with a manager in London. The manager was communicative, but the whole process was super demanding. They ghosted me at the end after I'd already interviewed with 6 people. It began with a 1:1 phone call. Then they told me the role wasn't available anymore, but I could proceed if I was okay with proving I deserved extra budget. I thought that was honest but unprofessional, showing the company's immaturity. Since I volunteered to continue, I got this cool take-home case study. I made a presentation out of it. My main contact gave me some quick tips after I presented it to them, to get me ready for the main presentation in person at Conshohocken. I drove there, it was a rush, and I presented to a group for an hour. Then I met 5 people back-to-back who kept asking the same questions. No HR was involved, so I had to ask around when I got there to find out who I should talk to. The office was dark and didn't seem great. The people I met were nice and smart, but I got the vibe it's a poorly managed company trying to act like a startup but is really just a small business in a competitive market.

I got referred by a friend who works there, they really like referrals, so you should check linkedin and see if you're connected to an employee before applying. I was contacted by their recruiter right after I applied, and she was great. She really appreciates professionalism. I had a phone screen with her that went well. Then I had a phone interview with the Sr. Product Marketing Manager, which was ok. He was hard to read and I couldn't tell what he was thinking. He said I would hear back by the end of the week, but that was 2 months ago. I even followed up with the recruiter via email, and never got a response.

The whole process started with a phone interview that got rescheduled 4 times over five weeks. After that, I had another phone interview with a director, which went fine. Then I was invited to the office. The hiring manager rescheduled the in-office interview twice. I finally got a date and the instructions the night before. I had to create a 10-minute PowerPoint presentation on something I was passionate about, and present it to about 5-6 people, then split into groups of 2 to meet with employees individually. When I got there, the hiring manager wasn't present and I was taken to a conference room filled with about 20 people. I gave my presentation and then met with 4 different groups of people who asked about my past experience, college, etc. After it was all done, I was just shown the door. There was no communication about next steps or feedback for 2 weeks. Eventually, I got a rejection email. Two months later, a new hiring manager contacted me for another interview, and a month after that, someone from the VC firm reached out about an interview. I was really put off by the lack of communication, disorganization, and how they didn't respect my time. I'm glad I didn't end up working there based on their reviews.

The process was pretty streamlined. I had two phone interviews that were short and straight to the point, not really grilling me. They asked why Monetify and how much I knew about it, then they explained more. After that, I was invited for a 2-hour face-to-face meeting. I spent half an hour with a different team member.
