First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Moloco.
Software Engineer
First, there was an HR call where they asked about salary expectations and if sponsorship is needed. Then, I had a second round with the hiring manager, mostly asking about projects. After that, there was a tech screen interview that included coding and system design.
- Can you tell me about a project you've worked on that's listed on your resume?
- What are your salary expectations?
- Do you need sponsorship?
Software Engineer
A recruiter contacted me about a Software Engineering role at Moloco and seemed very enthusiastic about the company. I was expecting a lot from the interview, but unfortunately, it was a letdown. The Hiring Manager's interview felt unstructured, had poor time management, and the interviewer was quite condescending. It wasn't clear how the interview would be structured. The interviewer spent most of the 45 minutes talking about the role and my background, leaving only 15 minutes for the coding part and final questions. When I asked about the focus being backend or frontend, the Hiring Manager made a patronizing comment about me needing to be a fullstack developer and do everything, rather than distinguishing between the roles.
- Could you solve a medium-difficulty LeetCode problem about breaking a sentence into a new line?
Software Engineer
I did an online coding test with four problems, and I had 70 minutes to finish. It was on CodeSignal, and I'm waiting to hear back. They told me there will be two one-on-one coding interviews. They also said that sometimes they make a decision after those two, but if they're not sure, they'll set up one more coding interview.
- The first problem was very simple.
- The second and third problems were about the level of a LeetCode Easy.
- The last problem was somewhere between Easy and Medium.
