Marketing
The interview process took almost two months with minimal communication, mainly just to schedule the next meeting. After a final interview that went well, it was revealed weeks later that the role was being put on hold. It's hard to believe they didn't know this during the two months. Apparently, they had to restart the team, but it felt disorganized. They dragged me out for two months before pulling the rug out, when they likely knew they weren't going to hire someone. Hopefully, this helps the next person. Good luck to you and this company.
- Tell me about a time you encountered a problem and how you handled it.
Recruiter
The process took two weeks and had three interview rounds: an initial call with the Sr. Director of Finance and People Ops, an onsite interview with the Head of Finance and Director of Operations, and a final in-person meeting with founders Jaya and Dilip. The interview moved fast and they were professional and responsive. I learned about Molekule and realized it was an interesting opportunity. Molekule is well funded with a lean team and a superior product. The passion is evident and it seems like a company founded by a family with a mission to save lives. During the interviews I learned: Everyone at Molekule is passionate about the mission, working hard because they build a product that helps people with breathing difficulties or in countries with poor air quality. The team is world-class, with Jaya and Dilip assembling smart, hard-working, driven individuals. The leadership is present, engaged, and sets a clear vision, appearing confident yet humble. I liked them and felt I would have enjoyed working with them. A big focus was how they could help me succeed and what I wanted career-wise. This showed Molekule cares about employees and their development. It was a two-way conversation. I experienced no negatives. I would have joined if offered. My only concern was my lack of manufacturing/hardware experience, knowing there would be a steep learning curve, but I believe I would have been supported.
- I was asked to sign an NDA.
NPI Engineer
Had a recruiter screening call that was about 30mins, I think it went pretty well. After that, I had an interview with one of their NPI Engineers, also about 30mins, it was alright. Then I had a longer second round that lasted 2.5 hours with four interviewers. This round was mostly focused on culture fit, but there were some technical questions thrown in too.
- What are your thoughts on injection molding?
- In a hypothetical scenario, if you found yourself unhappy in your role after six months, what steps would you take?
- Describe your criteria for selecting a manufacturer.
HR
The recruiter I spoke with seemed really uninformed about the company. I asked her a few questions about the company, like what HSIS system they use, and she couldn't answer them. I was super nervous during this call for some reason, even though I've done lots of phone calls before. I felt like a nervous kid talking to her. But, my resume is pretty strong, and I did mention that I was nervous and apologized.
- Were you knowledgeable about the immigration process?
