First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Moen.
Senior Analyst
First, there was a phone screen. After that, I was supposed to meet with a panel of the VP and other team leads, and then meet the team. But I didn't even make it past the phone screen because they ghosted me. They mentioned they were looking to backfill 80% of roles, which seemed like a huge red flag, and then the recruiter never got back to me, even though she reached out to me initially for this position.
- Tell me about your reasons for seeking a new position.
- Given that we are seeking individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset, can you demonstrate your ability to perform effectively in uncertain environments?
Customer Service Representative
The interview was pretty straightforward, basically just asking about customer service scenarios. It was easy, not difficult at all. I had two interviews in total: the first was with HR, and the second was with the hiring manager. The whole process from interview to offer took about three weeks.
- What would you do to ensure an unhappy customer remains satisfied?
Business Development Manager
I went through 3 phone interviews, first with HR, then the hiring manager, and finally a teammate. These conversations were pretty laid-back, more about getting to know me than asking rigid questions. They mentioned it would be a lengthy process, involving a mock sales call and a presentation about my first 90 days. I was really keen on the job and after sending a follow-up email, I was told I'd be moving on to the presentation stage, with details to come via email. I was excited to prep for this, feeling it would be a great fit. But then, things took a turn... I sent 3 follow-up emails to the hiring manager and got no response, which was weird because they used to reply the same day. I was confused by this sudden silence, as it wasn't my experience before. I never heard back and then got a generic HR email about 2 months later. Turns out my gut feeling was off. I wouldn't want to work for a company that treats people this way, even if they have a great product.
- Tell me about how you handle managing several projects and bids simultaneously.
Intern
I interviewed with 10 other prospective interns. Throughout the day we took a tour of the facility and got the opportunity to ask questions to current interns. Finally, we interviewed with three different business units to see where we would be best fit. Each business unit had its own set of questions pertaining to what they would need the intern to do on the job. Once we finished interviewing, we were given the opportunity to privately rank which unit we felt would be the best fit. Overall, I really enjoyed the interview process Moen gives its interns.
