First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MOE.
General Education Officer
It was a really quick interview, only about 15 minutes. They asked things like why I wanted to join, what I could bring to the role, and what makes me a good teacher. I also had to be ready to talk about how I'd manage a student with behavioral issues in the classroom.
- Could you tell me why you are interested in joining us?
- What skills or contributions do you believe you can offer to this position?
- What qualities do you possess that make you an effective teacher?
English Teacher
First, there was a writing task that I had to finish before the actual interview. Then, I had to do a teaching observation where MOE Teachers, Senior Teachers, or the Principal watched me teach using a whiteboard and markers. Finally, there was a Q&A session with a panel of interviewers, which lasted about 10-15 minutes.
- Can you tell me about your plans for the next five years?
Computer Engineer
It was a formal interview, asking general questions about networking (LAN, WAN, WLAN), software development (LARAVEL, PHP, JS), also about work code of conduct, and different situations. We discussed deployment strategies on cloud platforms and integration with various APIs. Regarding work code of conduct, the interview could assess understanding of ethical practices, effective communication, and conflict resolution. Situational questions might involve handling project deadlines, collaborating with team members, and responding to client feedback, testing the candidate's ability to maintain a productive and respectful workplace. Overall, the interview aims to gauge the candidate's technical expertise.
- Can you describe the wireless technologies and standards currently used in your company?
SSO
It was tough, made out of a panel and senior teachers and counsellors. Some questions made me feel like I have to butter up about how much I love working for MOE, in order to get the job. Didnt get an offer. Long waiting time about 2-3 months for them to get back to you about interview and results
- In your experience, how have you managed student interactions?
- What are your strategies for managing stress?
- Could you explain your decision to pursue a role with MOE over FSC?
