I first reached out with some questions about the role, like if I needed to be a university student. They just told me to apply and didn't answer me. About an hour later, they scheduled a phone interview. During the call, they asked a few things, then asked if I was enrolled in university, which I wasn't. After that, they seemed really uninterested and cut the call short. I later heard back that they weren't moving forward with me. It felt like a waste of time because they didn't answer my initial questions.

Behavioral Presentation

Started with an online application, then had a phone interview with the recruiter. Next, I submitted pre-recorded video interview responses, with the option to re-record until I was happy. After that, there were a couple of live video interviews with sales leaders, and finally, an in-person meeting. The team was very open about everything, and they asked good questions to understand my experience and what I'm looking for. I felt comfortable knowing what to expect at each step and could imagine myself being part of the team. It made me curious about the company culture and opportunities for growth, and I felt confident they could provide coaching and mentoring if I joined. They were also efficient in moving the hiring process along, given my job search timeline, and kept me informed about when to expect to hear back between stages, which was really appreciated.

Montage uses their own software for the interview process, starting with text message screening questions, then an on-demand recorded interview, followed by a live video interview, and finally an in-person interview where I had to demo the Montage product for 20 minutes. Montage claims to make the process fast and engaging, but it took me twice as long as usual. I was told I'd hear back in a day or two after the in-person interview, but it took 2.5 weeks and a call to the hiring manager to find out I didn't get the job. It felt like they were testing their software on me, not trying to hire me. Their promise of a better candidate experience is false. If you get to the live or in-person interview, they've already seen your on-demand recordings, so be ready with new stories.

Behavioral Technical

I had an initial phone screen and then an on demand video interview on the Modern Hire platform. I had trouble accessing the camera on this platform, even though I had the correct recommended browser and just had a Zoom video interview earlier that day, and had to call tech support. The on demand interview had about 5 questions and for most of them, my responses were cut off even though I didn't stop recording yet. This process took me about 2 hours because of the technical difficulties and having to rerecord again and again. I didn't receive any follow up after the interview which was very unprofessional. I was not happy at all with this experience and the red flags were in the solution that I would have been selling. If I was having such a difficult time it would have been hard to stand behind this solution to sell.
