This has been one of the longest drawn-out interview processes ever. I was first contacted in early May, and didn't interview until the end of May. After the interview, I followed up weekly and was contacted at the end of June for references. Now, at the end of July, I'm still following up on my application status. It feels like I've been given the runaround, which is a shame because I was really excited about working with this company.

The interview process involves a phone screening, followed by an in-person interview, and finally a reference check. It's a pretty fair process in my opinion. You first speak with a recruiter, then with two managers. If they like you, they'll ask for five references, three of whom need to be past or current managers. I thought the whole thing was a bit of a waste of time, for me and for the references too. After the references are in, they review your application and make a decision. They seem to have a policy where they'll interview you and offer a salary even if they know it won't meet your expectations, because they base it on years of nursing experience. My advice is, if you know you can't offer what a candidate expects, don't put them through the whole process. Also, maybe ask for references after you've already made an offer.

I spoke with 2 people initially, the district sales manager and the regional director of sales. They both liked my interview and then I met with the vp of sales. During that interview, the vp kept questioning me about why I only stayed at my past jobs for about 2 years. He didn't give me any guarantees about being hired. After a few weeks, I had another interview, this time with a recruiter. The recruiter then asked for 5 references, including 3 former managers. I felt pretty confident I would get the job at this point. I got my references, and they were happy to recommend me, and I sent them to the recruiter. A few days passed with no word, so I called the recruiter. He said he was waiting for feedback from the director of sales and told me to just wait for a response. I waited a few more weeks with no contact, so I called again, this time the district sales manager. After a long pause, he told me they decided to hire someone else. I was so disappointed! They made me think I had the job and then didn't hire me. I'm warning others to do their research on this company and not believe their promises. If you have a similar experience, don't waste your time.

Applied online. Had a quick 5 min phone call. Then I went to the NYC office to meet the hiring manager and the social worker manager. Before the two interviews, I had to take a short 'test' where I described what I would do in a specific situation. The interview itself was smooth, it was just me, and I felt very comfortable. Great company!
