Fabric R&D Manager
The interview process spanned about 4 weeks and included 5 virtual interviews, a project presentation, and a meet-and-greet. It felt more like a chat than a formal Q&A. The project presentation was designed to see how I'd handle real-world scenarios for the role. The prompts for the project seemed more like interview questions than a typical R&D project. Everyone was great, friendly, and really into growing the brand. I felt I could work well with the CFT and succeed there. I had to turn down the offer, though, because things changed a bit after my interviews.
- We have a fabric that is not meeting testing standards. How would you mitigate potential loss of business at this stage ? What would you have done earlier in the process to avoid this scenario?
Graphic Designer
It was a pretty chill process overall. Started with a phone call with HR, then I had like 3 zoom meetings with different people on the team. Then I did a workday at their office and met with the owner at the end. Took about 5 weeks from start to finish.
- Can you describe yourself using a few words?
Sourcing Director
It was a pretty long and drawn out process with minimal communication from M+M. After a bunch of phone and zoom calls, I had to do a big project and then present it to about 4-5 associates. After the project, they had me come in to meet my future direct reports and some cross-functional people, who all seemed pretty stoked to have me. But then, I never heard back from them. It looks like they later downgraded the role to a manager position. Super frustrating and a waste of time. Honestly, it was probably for the best because most of the upper management I met just bragged about themselves or said they'd never work in a corporate setting. It was a really weird experience, felt like they were playing games or just enjoyed wasting my time. They even said a perk was getting a key to lock up when you have to stay late - no thanks.
- Given your desire to work here, why have you previously worked in a corporate environment?
Site Merchandiser
I first got a 30-minute phone screen from HR, asking about my salary expectations and general experience. Then, the HR person set up a 45-60 minute call with the hiring manager. After that, I was invited to interview in person at HQ. This involved four back-to-back 30-minute interviews with different people, making it about 2.5 hours total. I waited 2-3 weeks after that before getting an offer.
- The interview questions for the in-person interviews varied because each interviewer focused on a different company value during their time slot.
- They also want to hear your ideas for the company, so make sure you understand what improvements you would suggest if you were to accept the role.
