It was a long process, with 3 stages. The first two were with HR, and the last one was with the marketing manager. It requires several skills for an analyst role that are often associated with a designer.

Had a 1-hour online interview in Germany with the Hiring Manager and HR. It was a rapid-fire session with detailed behavioral questions. Moved on to a case study, but strangely had only one day to submit it. Haven't heard back in two weeks, and my follow-up email got no response. Very unprofessional communication about the application status. I wouldn't recommend them.

The selection process lasted about three hours. Initially, we had a bad impression because we were poorly directed by reception and HR. The young lady who interviewed and oversaw the process didn't show much skill during the selection. I realized it wouldn't be the best place to build a personal career story.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

So I had this first interview with the hiring manager and someone else from another department back in mid-November 2021. They told me the next steps would be a design task, then two candidates would be selected for an in-person meeting. I did the design task, which took two hours. After that, I was invited for the in-person meeting at Mitutoyo's HQ in Germany, which was scheduled for the end of January 2022. They even offered to cover my travel expenses from France. So I went to Germany for the final meeting, where there were the same two people from the first interview plus someone from HR. They mentioned that four candidates were invited for this final round and that I'd get feedback by the end of the following week. Two weeks went by with no email, so I sent two follow-up emails to everyone involved, but got no response. I tried calling the hiring manager several times. When I finally spoke to him, he said I should have gotten the feedback two weeks prior, that he was on vacation, and that other candidates were also chasing feedback (which I found odd since he was the one sending all communication). He directed me to HR, even though he was the main point of contact. Almost three weeks after that call, still no feedback. The only positive was that they paid for my travel. It was a truly terrible interview experience, especially for a Japanese company.
