First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MiTek.
Designer
The interview process went pretty well. There were 3 rounds in total, and I met with a different person from the design team in each round, they were from various roles. Each round lasted about an hour. It was a quick process compared to other design roles I've seen. We talked about collaboration and design thinking methods and some use cases.
- Can you elaborate on your process for end-to-end design?
Intern
The interview process involved three stages: first, a quick 15-minute phone chat to check basic qualifications and see if I was interested. Then, a longer one-hour Zoom interview where they asked behavioral and technical questions about the job. Lastly, an in-person interview to see if I'd fit in culturally and to talk more about possible projects. It felt really structured and professional, with a big focus on how I solve problems and work with others.
- Can you share an instance where you successfully resolved a challenging problem as part of a team?
- What motivates your interest in joining MiTek?
- Describe your approach to managing situations with demanding deadlines.
Field Technician
I talked to the recruiter a couple of times on the phone, they were really nice and got back to me quickly. Then, I had a virtual interview with the hiring manager, which was pretty straightforward. After that, the last part was a virtual panel interview with some department managers. They asked pretty much the same kinds of questions. It was a more serious group of guys, but they were still easy to talk to. The whole thing took about 2 weeks to get an offer.
- Tell me about a time you encountered a difficult situation and how you dealt with it.
Software Engineer
Got referred by an employee for a Software Engineer 1 role. A recruiter called me up and set up a phone interview. It went great, the recruiter was super nice and told me more about the company. She asked about my tech skills and some past projects. She said I'd hear back in a week from the team lead about a technical interview. The HR person was upfront, saying I was the only applicant and seemed like a good fit, especially since it was a referral. It's been a month now and I haven't heard anything. I've tried contacting the HR rep multiple times but got no response. My friend who works there can't get answers either. I was really into the company's potential and it's frustrating to be ghosted. It's a waste of a month waiting when I could have been looking at other places.
- Can you tell me about the projects you've listed on your resume?
