& Process

The hiring process took about two months, which is quite fast these days. It started with a standard screening, then a video interview with my potential direct manager. The recruiter was good at keeping in touch, and my manager seemed really authentic and great to talk to. Everything felt promising until the last stage. The final round was a crazy, four-hour marathon at their HQ. I met with five different people one after another. Most of them acted like robots and looked like they'd rather be anywhere else. It was frustrating because I had to repeat the exact same stuff five times, as if they didn't know what a panel interview was. To top it off, they rejected me saying my 'level of engagement' was a concern. Honestly, if you can stay super energetic and 'engaged' after repeating yourself for the fifth time to a bunch of people who clearly aren't paying attention, then you're a better person than me. You probably deserve to work at a car wash company that thinks it's Google.

It was a pretty long process with interviews with HR and hiring managers. I'd say expect around 4-6 interviews spread out over several weeks, maybe even a couple months, with about two weeks between each. The HR chat was over the phone, but the manager meetings were on Zoom. Some corporate interviews were in person.

This was the longest interview process I've been through. It began with a recruiter call. If they thought I was a potential fit, I had a video interview with the Controller. After that, they invited me onsite to meet with three managers and the CFO individually. The whole thing took about three weeks. They do make decisions quickly though, which is super helpful. It's worth noting that these executives were some of the nicest people I've met. The company feels like a family even though it's big.

A recruiter reached out really fast after I applied, which was surprising. First, I had a phone chat that was informative and made me more interested in the job. Then, I met a future teammate and the department head. After that, I went back for an in-person interview with the head of the department. The offer took a bit because the supervisor was away, but the whole thing took about two weeks, showing they were keen. The process felt thorough, and everyone was nice and respectful. It felt like a place I'd want to work, and I got more excited with each meeting.
