The interview process usually involves one or two interviews. You'll typically speak with the shed supervisor, someone from human resources, and the supervisor's boss. They'll ask you a bunch of questions to get to know your background, your past experiences, and what your future plans are with the company. Everyone was professional and easy to chat with.

Had multiple interviews with people at different levels. The waiting periods between interviews were really long. It took a while to get the job offer. Since it's a government job, long waits are pretty normal. There isn't one single person who can make all the decisions.

I had a panel interview with 4 people: 3 managers from MODOT and 1 HR manager. First, they gave an overview of the position and explained the role. Then, it moved into revolving questions. Each manager asked about 5 questions each, varying from behavioral questions to direct questions about solving specific problems or issues. Some questions were simple, while others were more complex, involving two or three parts. Even though I wasn't selected because I was overqualified, they did refer me to another, higher position to apply for. MODOT is top-notch and I'd recommend them over any other state departments.

I applied through the university career fair and then got an email for the interview. The interview itself was about 30-45 minutes long and consisted mostly of behavioral, skills, and personality questions. After the interview, I tried to follow up but didn't hear back.
