I was hesitant to post my review too, but after seeing other candidates get exploited, I felt I had to warn everyone else. This company seems to be another fake agency that uses executive candidates for free consulting on their business problems, disguised as part of the interview. It seemed okay at first. After two interviews, they told me I needed to do a written exercise to 'see how I think.' But it was just a way to get my years of content expertise for free. It took me several hours over a weekend. After I sent it in, they had me meet with the Co-CEOs to discuss my answers. Then they ghosted me for 4 weeks, and I realized I'd made a big mistake. My bad for falling for it. I'm posting this to warn you about this. Companies that do this are dishonest and need to be called out. My advice is don't give them your expertise until you're hired. At least ask to be paid for your time.

I went through 5 rounds with 4 different people, and got followups within 1-2 days after each round, as promised in the first call. This continued until round 5. After that, I waited a week with no word, so I emailed the main interviewer, then messaged them on LinkedIn. Still no response after 2 weeks, so I emailed the CEO (who was on my interview list). After 2.5 weeks of silence, I emailed again, pointing out that ghosting an executive candidate isn't a good look and suggesting they could use some coaching on handling diversity candidates more gracefully. I got an email back with a long, complicated explanation that basically blamed my confusion on their hiring process. I decided to assume they meant well and replied, explaining that the confusion stemmed from the inconsistent follow-up and missed timelines, not the process itself, and asked for next steps. It turned out I wasn't moving forward. So yeah, I was ghosted and then gaslit about it, without an apology, just a bunch of jargon implying I misunderstood everything. That was a bummer.

I talked to three different people during the hiring process. I made sure to have some questions ready to ask them so I could learn more about what the company is all about, its goals, and its general vibe.
- What draws you to the field of tech PR?

This was a strange and frustrating interview experience with an agency. I was told two major things that turned out not to be true. First, that the "values" round meant they were confident in my experience and I should feel good about things. When I didn't get the job, they said it was due to lacking experience in a certain area, which they should have known earlier. Second, I was initially told there would be a writing assignment, then that there wouldn't be. Later, I was told I needed to do a 10-page presentation (unpaid and for an active client, which is odd at this senior level) and present it to a large group. Despite it seeming like a good agency and opportunity, the process made me second guess things before the final presentation. I don't think anyone lied intentionally, but the process was sloppy, unprofessional, and lacked consistency.
- I don't recall the specific questions asked, but they were generally standard.
