First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mission College.
Tutor
The interview process was great! It was well-organized and efficient, and everything went smoothly. Clear communication was appreciated, and I was lucky to get placed in a role pretty fast. I'd recommend this role.
- Can you tell me about your academic progress and grades?
Tutor
Had a 30-minute interview with two people. They didn't really ask about my ability to do the job, but more about why I wanted it. They said they'd contact me within a week, but I never heard back.
- What are your goals for working at Mission College?
Enrollment Specialist
The interview was with 3 people who work there. It was pretty easy. They gave me their questions 15 minutes before we started, which helped me think about what I wanted to say.
- Can you tell me about your experience in education?
Counselor
Beyond the typical interview questions, you'll need to do a teaching demo and a role play. Make sure to answer the supplemental questions in the initial screening thoughtfully, as they're reviewed very closely. The interviewers are friendly and informal during the first round, but the second interview felt super intimidating, even though the questions were about a counselor's role in higher education or community college.
- Tell me about SSSP.
- How would you handle a challenging colleague?
- How would you handle a challenging student?
