First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Miro.
Technical Recruiter
I liked my first screening call but the second round was tough. I talked to a recruiter who seemed skeptical and negative right from the start. She questioned my career growth with a strange attitude and wasn't friendly at all. She seemed very rigid in her thinking and not open to other ways of doing things; just had a bad vibe. I've heard from others that she treated them the same way. It left a bad impression, which is a shame because I really like the product and the company overall.

Technical Sourcer
So the process was: First a recruiter call, then a call with the hiring manager to talk about the company and role, and my background. Then a prep call with a teammate, just a casual chat to get to know each other. The first interview was about sourcing skills. The second was about stakeholder management, data, and insights. Lastly, a wrap-up call with the hiring manager again. I have to say, the Miro recruiting team really impressed me. They were all so supportive, empathetic, and caring. When I shared my concerns, they related and shared their own experiences. After seeing the YouTube video about Miro, it seems like a collaborative team using a collaborative tool to help people work together. It was a nice experience, I appreciate it!
- Can you describe the most challenging position or hiring manager you've worked with?
Tech Recruiter
I was contacted by Miro for the Sr. Tech Recruiter role by one of their recruiters. They use Calendly for scheduling, which is a modern approach. However, the interview experience itself wasn't great. The recruiter talked too much and didn't ask in-depth questions, limiting my ability to explain myself. When I asked about her experience at Miro and the company's talent acquisition and organizational challenges related to their goals, her response was vague, focusing on 'hyper growth'. She couldn't provide a clear rationale for doubling the company size in a year beyond 'more customers', which didn't fully align with the needs of tech hiring. She seemed new to the role, lacking basic information, including the location of the Amsterdam office. Despite Miro's website emphasizing distributed teams, she indicated a preference for employees to be in the office full-time to achieve 'hyper growth', even though I live about an hour and 15 minutes away. She repeatedly said 'I will put this in my notes' after I answered her standard questions. A major area for improvement is the follow-up. After promising to check on WFH flexibility and salary, I received a generic rejection email four days later. While I understand standard rejections for unsolicited applications, a personalized touch with a brief reason is expected after a personal conversation. It's unprofessional not to provide feedback, whether it was my salary expectations, WFH query, or something else. If Miro wants to achieve 'hyper growth', especially in the tech sector, they need to improve their recruitment practices, as word-of-mouth can impact their growth.
