Digital Marketing Specialist
The interview journey was really enjoyable and a smooth sailing. The first interview was with HR, which was basically to brief me on the role and check my background to see if it's a mutual fit. Then, I had a second interview with the role's counterpart from the USA. This was a technical discussion where they reviewed my past projects and campaigns and listened carefully to all the details. The last interview was with the hiring manager at a nice place downtown. The hiring manager was very friendly, and they explained the role's expectations, current operations, and future goals. I also got to present my analysis of their current digital presence, which was well-received. The recruiter kept me updated via email and phone calls before each round. The hiring team was very organized, which made me feel like employees are in good hands.

Accountant
The interview process was pretty simple. I first met with the CFO for a screening interview. Then I met with someone from the accounting team and the Northwest region manager. Most of the questions were more behavioral and personal rather than technical. I received an offer within 24 hours, which was slightly above the posted range to meet my minimum. However, I felt some pressure to make a quick decision and asked for a week to think it over since I was waiting to hear back from another company. During the interview, I asked about the performance review process, but my question was misunderstood as a financial review question and was met with some defensiveness. The manager explained that they don’t really conduct formal annual reviews — if you do a good job, you’ll get a raise. That answer concerned me because it suggested a lack of structure or clear feedback for career growth. One of the team members also mentioned that she didn’t feel like she could even take a single day off because she was so busy, which was another red flag. The offer letter only listed salary details and said to contact HR for benefit information. I had to ask multiple times just to get details about the 401(k) and PTO policy, and even then, the PTO information wasn’t provided clearly. When I didn’t receive a full response, I held off signing past the date I said I’d decide by. A few days later, the CFO emailed me saying the offer was rescinded. In the end, I don’t feel like I missed out. The communication and transparency around benefits felt poor, and the process seemed rushed. It came across like they wanted a quick “yes” rather than giving me time to make an informed decision.

Sales Representative
I applied for the job on Monster.com and got an email saying they wanted to interview me in the Pittsburgh market office. The first interview was over Skype, and the setup made it hard to understand the interviewer. After that, I had a 1-hour personality test on the computer. I also had to agree to a background check. Once they saw the background check and personality test results, they invited me for a live interview at HQ in Camp Hill, PA. After the interview, they offered me the job with a contract that had no room for negotiation.
- Can you sell me this pencil?
Hearing Care Professional
The recruiting specialist from AmplifonUSA (headquarters) had a friendly chat, explained the job, and answered my questions. They said the franchise owner would call me if I was selected. We discussed some negative reviews I found online, and they acknowledged that each local franchise is different, but emphasized the company's goal of helping people, not just making sales. The salary structure is 100% commission after the training.
- Can you share an area where you are actively seeking self-improvement?
- Would you describe yourself as aggressive?
