First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Minnesota Timberwolves.
Corporate Social Responsibility Analyst
It was a three interview process. First was with HR, second with the manager, and the third was a panel. The last interview involved presenting a deck with new ideas for the CSR program. After each interview, there was a check-in with HR. Salary questions were only to be directed to HR, and there was no room for negotiation.
- Can you describe your background in CSR?
- What are your thoughts on our CSR program?
- How would you enhance our CSR program?
Inside Sales Associate
I applied online and got a call about a week later for a chat about the position, and we scheduled a formal phone interview. When the interview time came, they didn't call me, so I called them back the next day, but no one picked up. A few days later, I finally heard back and they asked to do the phone interview then and there. It was pretty chill, asking about my background and the job, and to bring questions because they make up most of the interview. At the end, they invited me to Minnesota for a Sales Combine/interview the following weekend. This was a bummer. After a 7-hour drive, I got to the new Mayo Clinic facilities, which were really nice. I thought the sales combine would be a job overview, meeting people, and interviews. But it was actually about 6 hours of training, a quick lunch, a short tour, then two hours of actual sales pitching where we had to sell tickets on the phone, which I thought was a bit weird as they only told us about this an hour before. None of the about 10 candidates sold the $500 ticket package. Then came the interview, which they crammed into the last half hour with myself and three other candidates, asking only two questions. I don't like group interviews, but this was super awkward. At this point, me and another candidate were ready to leave. Plus, the culture felt really cliché.

Inside Sales
It was a really fast process, started at a sales recruiting event where they asked me some questions. I felt really comfortable and enthusiastic about the possibility of working at the Wolves. All in all, it was a good experience.
- What motivates you?
- What makes you confident you would be successful in this position?
- Can you tell me about your relevant experience?
Account Executive
I had an initial online interview where I had to video record myself answering 7 questions. After that, someone contacted me for a second interview, which we completed, but then I never heard back from them.
- Could you explain your motivation for wanting to join our company?
- In three words, how would you describe yourself?
- Regarding your previous role, what is one aspect you particularly liked or disliked?
