First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Minitab.
Accounting Intern
It was a typical behavioral interview. They got back to me about a week after I applied. The interview was quite short, not even using the full 30 minutes. It felt a bit rushed, but it was alright overall.
- Can you tell me about your past experiences in relation to behavioral questions?
Marketing Director
HR reached out to me for an initial online meeting. It went well, and since the recruiter seemed like a good fit, the next meeting with the hiring manager (regional marketing director) was scheduled right away. At the end of that interview, I was informed that this role was a one-year fixed-term position, which was unexpected as I thought it was permanent. I then sent some questions regarding the contract and working conditions. Following this, the HR representative did not answer my questions and abruptly cancelled our next scheduled meeting, stating they had found three better candidates. This was quite a bizarre experience during my job search.
- Could you tell me about your experience?
- What prompted you to look for a new opportunity?
- Which marketing tools are you proficient in?
Software Engineer
First, I had a phone screen with HR, where they asked mostly behavioral questions and weren't very clear about the role. Then, I interviewed with the hiring managers who asked me technical questions about my resume, my experience, and technologies relevant to the job. After that, I was given a medium-sized take-home assignment. They rejected me shortly after I submitted it, without providing any useful feedback. I'd recommend avoiding this company!
- Can you describe your experience as it relates to your resume?
- What experience do you have with technologies relevant to this role?
- Could you design a frontend given these requirements?
Software Quality Engineer
So for this role, they mentioned that having a software background is ideal but not strictly required. The first part of the interview was heavy on behavioral and personality type questions.
- Tell me about your software background.
- Do you think a software background is a must for this job?
- Can you walk me through your experience?
