First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ministry of Justice.
Officer
For the interview date/time, there were timeslots for you to choose. The interview was conducted virtually via teams. From memory, the interview lasted for around 30 mins. Three behaviours/strengths assessed. They offer feedback upon request.
- In your experience, how do you ensure that your work meets high-quality standards, and also, when you have too many things going on, how do you decide what to do first?
- Can you share an example of when you helped out a coworker who was having a difficult time?
Court Registry Officer
I had a roundtable interview with three interviewers who rotated asking questions. They were nice and friendly, but seemed a bit distracted. They each introduced themselves and then took turns asking me questions. After they were done, I got to ask them some questions.
- What key skills do you believe are necessary for this role?
Case Manager
Once I got to the interview stage, it was a straightforward panel interview followed by a test. The questions seemed right for the role. I found that preparing some SMART examples from my past work experience was helpful for my prep. The specific topics or examples from my past weren't covered, but it helped focus how I responded.
- Can you name the Protected Characteristics as outlined in the Equality Act 2010?
Case Administrator
I got to pick my interview date within a two-week window. Two friendly staff members interviewed me, asking questions related to specific behaviors. I didn't get the job, and I felt the scoring was a bit unfair. Getting feedback is a bit of a hassle; they give you scores, and then you have to wait to see the actual feedback they provided.
- Can you share an example of when you demonstrated decision making skills?
