The interview process was tough, with experienced diplomats, high-ranking ministry officials, and academics as interviewers. It was the last stage of hiring and lasted for an hour.

First, you submit all the standard employment paperwork and have a brief chat with the director. Then, you head straight to the department you're interested in for an immediate interview. They'll let you know if you got the job over the phone.

I had a really good time interviewing for the internship program at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. Right from the start, everything was organized and professional. They communicated clearly, and the interview panel made me feel welcome, which helped me share my thoughts and reasons for applying. The questions they asked were thought-provoking and made me think about my studies, skills, and what I like, in relation to foreign policy and working with other countries. It didn't feel scary, more like a helpful talk where I could show what I know and how much I want to learn. I particularly liked that they were open to hearing about my past experiences and how I could help the Ministry. Their feedback and info about the internship gave me a better idea of what to expect and how I can develop in the job. All in all, the interview was not just a test but also a learning chance. It made me more eager to work in diplomacy and international relations, and I appreciate the professional and supportive attitude of the interviewers.
