First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mini-Circuits.
RF Test Engineer
The interview was mainly straightforward technical questions about my past experience. They wanted to know my hands-on work with RF testing, validation, and wireless systems, and how those skills fit the job. The questions were practical and scenario-based, trying to check my technical depth and how well I could use my previous project experience for real engineering challenges here.
- Can you discuss your knowledge of RF concepts and equipment?
Director of Strategy
The interview process was fair and direct, with honest discussions about the role and company expectations. It started with a recruiter call, followed by interviews with the CFO and then the CEO. I felt they were intelligent individuals managing a lot of pressure in a competitive market. I turned down the offer due to the requirement of being in the office 100% of the time, which was difficult due to the driving distance and traffic. It seemed unfair given that most of the corporate team was already working remotely from various distant locations without any expectation to return to the office.
- Can you outline your approach to sourcing potential M&A targets and share your experiences and the general process involved in developing a company's strategy, including documentation and quality control measures you've employed?
- What's your methodology for candidate sourcing in M&A, and can you detail your experience and the typical process for formulating corporate strategy, including documentation and quality assurance practices?
- Could you describe your process for finding new M&A candidates and elaborate on your experience with building company strategy, including the general process, any documentation, and the quality controls you used?
Process Engineer
I applied through Indeed and then got a call from HR who scheduled me for an onsite interview. I asked about commuting expenses, and she told me to discuss it with the hiring manager during the interview. The interview was about 2 hours long. It started with some paperwork and a general written test covering skills and aptitude. Then, I had a one-on-one with a technical manager. The interview went okay. After it was over, I asked HR about my expenses, and she said they don't cover travel costs, which was surprising.
- Tell me about your skills.
- What are your strengths in terms of aptitude?
- Can you explain the situation about your travel expenses?
Buyer
So, the interview process was pretty average overall. They had me do the HR interview and the hiring manager interview on the same day, so it was basically a full day of interviews. The HR part went on for a while and felt a bit disorganized with a lot of waiting. But the part with the Hiring Manager and the rest of the team was pretty efficient. I'd say the difficulty was about average.
- What would you say are your greatest strengths?
- Can you tell me about a weakness you have?
- What is your motivation for seeking this particular role?
