First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mindtree Recruitment.
Systems Engineer
First, we did the technical stuff, then the HR part. In the technical part, they asked questions from my resume project and for an introduction. They also asked about my family and if I'm okay with relocating. If you're from MERN, they will ask JavaScript, and also some Java questions.
- Tell me about yourself and then let's discuss your project.
- Can you tell me about your project?

Mindtree (now LTIMindtree) interviews are usually pretty chill to moderate if you know your stuff. It usually starts with an online test for aptitude, logic, English, and coding, all timed. If you pass, you get technical interviews, mostly about CS basics like OOP, data structures, DBMS, OS, and whatever tech is on your resume. They'll also ask about your projects, so be ready to talk about what you built, the tough parts, and why you did things a certain way. Then there's an HR interview to check your communication, attitude, and if you're a good fit, asking about your pros, cons, and if you can move or work odd hours. Sometimes they also have a separate English test for listening and speaking. People often mess up by saying they know things they don't, forgetting the basics, or not being good enough at English. To succeed, just be honest—know your basics, practice coding fast, have good stories for your projects, and answer HR questions confidently. The whole thing is structured but can drag on or have many steps depending on the job and how they're hiring.
- Can you tell me about OOPs concepts?
- What about computer fundamentals?
Graduate Student
The interview process started with an online assessment (Round 1) focusing on Quantitative Aptitude, covering topics like AP, GP, Quadratic Equations, Series, Profit & Loss, and Mixtures. It was about 1 hour long, and those who passed got an email in 1-2 days for the next round. Round 2 was another online assessment on English language, including comprehension, synonyms, antonyms, para jumbles, and an English communication test where you had to repeat spoken lines. Some found this tough if their English wasn't strong. Round 3, received within 1-2 hours for those who passed Round 2, was an online coding assessment with 2 moderate to hard level story-based questions and some MCQs on programming languages. The coding questions were mainly on arrays, strings, queues, stacks, and math concepts. Round 4 was the Technical Interview, split over 2 days. The interviewer was friendly and asked about resume topics and projects, including how they were made and challenges faced. Questions also covered OOPS, Java, Data Structures and Algorithms, and Javascript. Round 5 was the HR round for those who passed the technical interview. The HR was friendly and asked general HR questions like introductions, future goals, and personality fit within the company environment.
- Can you elaborate on the topics like OOPS, Java, Data Structures and Algorithms, Javascript which I have mentioned in my resume?
- Can you tell me about the projects which I have mentioned in my resume, how I have made them, what challenges faced in making them, etc.?
Mindtree Edge Program
The interview process had three rounds in total, all online. The first round was an online process with webcam and audio to ensure no malpractice. The second round was technical, focusing on subjects studied. For non-IT students, core-related questions were asked. It was a bit difficult for me as I hadn't focused on programming basics. The final round was the HR round where typical questions like 'tell me about yourself,' 'where do you see yourself after 5 years?', and 'why did you choose services as your core?' were asked. These are the things I remember from the Mindtree interview.
- What are the basics of core and IT subjects?
- Tell me about yourself.
- Where do you see yourself after 5 years?
