First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mindful Support Services.
Data Engineer
The interview for the data engineer role was pretty standard. They mostly asked about my resume and basic data engineering concepts. A big part of it was also SQL, checking how well I knew database stuff and optimizing queries.
- Questions about my resume and SQL skills were asked.
- They also asked about SQL and resume based questions.
Front Desk Receptionist
This was the second stage of the hiring. I had a phone interview with HR the day before this. It was a really good experience, the office was nice and the office manager was chill and friendly. They asked about my background and how I'd handle different situations, like getting feedback from bosses and resolving disagreements with coworkers.
- How would you approach giving feedback to colleagues?
Technical Project Manager
I applied for a Technical Project Manager role at Mindful Support Services and was pretty bummed out by the hiring process. I spent a lot of time and energy, including putting together a detailed presentation that took me two whole days, but then I heard nothing back. I even tried following up myself, but still no communication. For a smaller company, it was really disappointing to feel like my time and effort weren't respected. If they had clear timelines, the hiring manager had been more proactive in communicating, and the whole process was smoother, it would have been a much better experience and would have made me feel better about the company.
- How would you manage working on two high-priority projects at the same time?
Client Care Coordinator
The interview process included an initial phone screen, which went well, followed by an in-person interview. Although it was expected to be a panel interview, only one person attended, and it still went great. The recruitment process took an odd turn when I received a verbal offer over the phone from the manager I interviewed with, and I accepted. I was given first-day instructions and then received emails with links for recruitment and background checks, which I completed immediately. When I entered my banking and SSN on ADP, I noticed the listed manager was different from the one I spoke with, which seemed strange. After waiting nearly a week without a response, despite sending an immediate follow-up email with a question after the offer, I reached out again the following Thursday. I was planning to start the next Monday. That's when I got a very curt, legalistic email stating the offer was rescinded with no explanation. I understand it's an at-will state, but I was confused. I suspected maybe they called the wrong person with my name, especially since my initial follow-up email was ignored. I responded twice more, acknowledging I probably wouldn't get a reason and explaining my suspicion about the wrong person. I received another curt and very legalistic email, making me feel like I was being treated as a harasser. I was initially very excited about this role, but these events felt like red flags. For transparency, my background check cleared, and my references were approved when I got the verbal offer. For future candidates, pay attention to small red flags and consider them before accepting. Interviewing is a lot of work, and candidates want to feel valued throughout the entire process.
- Can you describe your ability to keep professional boundaries when speaking with clients who have different needs over the phone?
