Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mimi's Cafe.
Assistant Manager
They started by introducing the company, then they asked us to introduce ourselves, talk about our professional background, and why we chose this company. They also asked about the qualities needed for the job and our personal flaws and areas for improvement.
- Why did you choose our company?
Assistant Manager
A recruiter from an external company reached out. I had a standard phone interview with them. Then, I applied online as the recruiter suggested. After that, I had a phone interview with the Area Director. Next, I was invited for an in-person working interview, which was 2.5 hours long, with 1.5 hours dedicated to the working part. They offered me the job at the very end of this interview.
- What are your strategies for managing food costs and budgets?
- What are your long-term career aspirations over the next five years?
Manager
Applied through Career Builder. The Marketing Coach (who is basically the Regional Director) reached out and sent me an online assessment. I did that. Then I had my first interview with the Marketing Coach. After that, I went back to the restaurant for another interview with the restaurant's GM and also did a skills test/evaluation all in the same visit. Got a call later with a job offer.
- Tell me about a time you had to handle a difficult employee and how you resolved the situation.
- Can you describe a situation where you dealt with a guest complaint and what you did to fix it?
