MIM Software Interview Questions
& Process

The interview process was extensive with multiple rounds and several interviewers. It was structured and behavioral based. Interviewed for about 12 hours in total over the course of 4 rounds. The process was very impersonal. After talking to the COO multiple times the minimum professional courtesy would have been a phone call with some feedback. Instead I was told I wasn't what they were looking for via email. Terribly unprofessional and inconsistent with the "culture and values" they used to describe themselves.

I sent my resume at a campus career fair and they got back to me for an interview. After the first one, I was contacted later for another interview for a different role, but there was also a mixup and they didn't contact me for months. Both interviews were several hours long and I spoke with a bunch of different employees. One of the interviews included a presentation on any topic for a set amount of time. I left after the second interview date (for the other role) feeling like I didn't get it, and I was fine with that. Everyone was nice except for one engineer/hr person who was a jerk. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but it really made my experience at MIM not great.

First, there's a coding test. After that, an initial phone interview with two developers. Then, you set up a final round interview, which is actually three interviews happening back-to-back. Some of these involved Java questions on memory management and other language-specific topics, followed by some basic algorithm questions. They asked for pseudocode, which I kinda wish they'd just asked me to code out, that would've been just as simple. One interview was purely DSA. I thought the question was pretty easy, they don't make you code it out, but you have to explain the solution in a lot of detail. The last interview covered OOP principles and a basic grasp of Java.

It was a rigorous interview process as expected with any R&D position. Started with a research problem statement to be solved offline. After passing the offline test, video interview with the Manager to discuss my thesis/previous experience and test general technical knowledge. Second round of video interviews with senior research team members and another interview with the manager testing indepth technical knowledge specific to some projects carried out in the team.
