Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Millennium.
Data Scientist
I applied for a DS role in Singapore. I passed the initial Python HackerRank test and then completed a take-home data science test. Unfortunately, two weeks after I submitted the data science test, HR informed me they decided to move forward with other candidates. I didn't get any feedback on the data science test. No voice or video calls were involved. I was pretty disappointed as I thought I did well on the assessment and deserved some feedback, maybe from the hiring manager.
- Completed two Python tests, which were easy.
- The data science assessment took approximately 5-6 hours to complete.
Data Scientist
The interview process started with an online test covering programming and database questions. After that, there was a take-home data project. Once I passed that, I had two more rounds, the 3rd and 4th, which were all online interviews. These interviews were with analysts and the hiring manager. There was also a caliper test before the 4th round. Everyone I interacted with, both interviewers and HR, was really friendly. The company was transparent about the process, but it did take a long time, so patience is definitely needed.
- Can you tell me about your resume background?
- What's your background in math?
- How would you describe your understanding of algorithms?
Data Scientist
The process started with no human interaction. It included an 80-minute programming test on Hackerrank, followed by a data cleaning exercise that took several hours, despite being estimated at one hour. This process felt one-way rather than a typical two-way interview. If you value your time, this might not be the place for you.
- Two questions on Hackerrank.
