First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mill Creek Residential.
Project Engineer
There were two rounds of interviews. The questions were direct and focused on technical aspects. After the interview, they asked for 10 questions about the company. It's really important that you ask questions about the position, responsibilities, and what success looks like, not about PTO or salary. Save those negotiations for after you get an offer.
- Can you describe your experience with buy-outs?
Capital Markets Analyst
It was a multi step process, pretty standard for commercial real estate. I'd say it was a 6/10 on difficulty. It started with some zoom calls, but they mentioned I'd eventually fly to DC for the final round. I didn't get that far, so I can't really comment on what happened there.
- What is your motivation for seeking employment at Mill Creek?
Project Marketing Manager
I was an employee referral - the first call was very brief and asked very specific questions but it did not include going through my resume or most of my relevant career experience. This was just a screener call to see if I would even qualify to speak to the hiring manager. It was disappointing because I wasn't given the opportunity to review all of my career experience. I received a generic rejection email the next day. I have already been in the same type of role for almost a decade.
- Can you tell me if you have experience with any project management software?
- Do you have experience with managing people?
Desktop Support Technician
I met with three of their senior IT staff, the whole interview took about 2.5 to 3 hrs in downtown Dallas. They asked me a bunch of questions, covering technical troubleshooting scenarios and soft skill situations like how I would handle an angry user. They also asked about my background, my drive, and my work ethic.
- Where do you feel your strengths and weaknesses lie?
- What does good customer service mean to you?
- How would you handle an irate user?
