The hiring process took a month from the initial HR contact to the final decision. It included a 15-minute phone chat with HR, followed by interviews with a Director and then a Sr. Director. Communication was clear for a smaller company. The last two interviews were scheduled closely, and after that, there was a two-week waiting period. This suggests they might have been prioritizing other candidates or waiting for another offer to be finalized before informing me about my application status.

It started with a 15-minute phone screen with the hiring manager, followed by a 1-hour screen with them. Then there was an informal on-site tour with 3 or 4 people. After that, I had an interview with 4 people at the corporate office. I actually withdrew my application after the tour, but the hiring manager reached out to see if I'd reconsider. I decided to give it another shot. The final round involved 1-on-1 interviews with the hiring manager, the VP, some other managers, and HR. They asked a lot about my past experience, the company culture, and my reasons for wanting to join Milk Bar. I spoke with HR last, and they mentioned they had only budgeted about 60% of the salary I'd expected, even though I'd shared my expectations during the first call. A few days later, I got an email saying they'd update me within a week, but I never heard back. It was a pretty disappointing experience overall. I felt like my time was wasted since they clearly weren't planning to offer my desired salary, or anything close to it. The lack of follow-up after saying they'd update me was also frustrating. From my perspective, the company's expectations for the role seemed unrealistic given the resources they could provide. It didn't seem like the leadership fully grasped what would be needed to achieve their goals.

I got an email from Milk Bar asking to chat, which we did fast. Then, I had an hour-long interview with a Director. After that, I spoke with two more people, and finally interviewed with a Senior Director. At the end, I was told someone would contact me, so I waited 7 business days and then emailed the Director I first talked to. Still nothing. A couple more weeks went by, so I guess I'm not in the running. I spent hours on calls with them and it would've taken two minutes to just email me back and say 'We're not interested. Beat it, loser.' That's all I wanted. Really disappointing because I love their products, and now I have this bad experience with them.

I was really excited to interview with MB since it practically opened. But the interviewer seemed really rushed and said she was too busy. I know it's the busy time of the year, but why schedule interviews if you're too busy? I got a lot of info about the job and a kitchen tour. The interviewer didn't ask me anything about myself or my interest, so I had to tell them, but it seemed like they weren't listening. They rushed me out and said they'd be in touch, but I haven't heard back after sending a thank you email. I later learned the interviewer was new and didn't know the job well. I don't feel I got a fair chance because the current employee didn't give me their full attention for at least 30 minutes.
