First, I chatted with the technical recruiter over the phone. We went through my resume, and they told me more about the job. Then, I went in for an in-person interview and a tour of the manufacturing facility. The interviewers were really nice and we had a conversation, which didn't feel like an interrogation. It was more chill than other interviews I've had. The tour of the manufacturing floor was a cool way to get a better sense of the specifics of the role.

I showed up early for my interview and called the contact person. When the HR person arrived, she didn't recognize me or another candidate who was also waiting, even though she had just called me hours before and discussed my experience. She took the other guy away, and I waited about 45 minutes past my scheduled time. I was verbally offered the job, given an employee handbook, and told about the next steps. On Monday, after the holiday weekend, I was informed that they were rescinding their offer because they found a more qualified candidate, but thanked me for applying. The plant seemed full of people goofing off instead of working, which didn't seem to match the HR person's explanation for overtime. I felt my time was completely wasted and was embarrassed by the experience.

It was a really immersive and friendly interview. It felt educational, which I think interviews should be. The work environment is professional, growing, clean, and pretty quiet, typical for an industrial setting. Seeing the plant floor was a real eye-opener. You get the sense that the managers are actual people who support you, not just 'supervise'. The products, the manufacturing process (they're a German-based OEM), and the endless possibilities with plastics really make the company appealing. Plus, the management definitely knows what they're looking for. Hope this helps!

Got a call from a headhunter. Then had two more interviews: HR Director from Cincinnati, and a scheduled onsite interview that got cancelled. After that, I had another phone screen with the President of the unit for the Tecumseh location. No feedback or follow-up was given. I guess that's how they'd treat someone in that remote unit.
