Behavioral

The interview process was pretty standard for the industry. None of the questions I was asked were unfamiliar or unexpected. What stood out to me was when the recruiter took the time to reassure me that she would not "ghost me" and that I shouldn’t worry about being left without a response. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened.

Behavioral Presentation

After an initial HR screening, there were two interviews and an assignment. The assignment was really tough! We had only three and a half hours to write a press release, come up with three different pitch ideas, list five editors to send the pitches to, and do a full campaign analysis. It makes you wonder why they need so much unpaid work to pick someone.

I first spoke with a recruiter who sent over some materials to help me prepare. The first round was a video call, and it felt pretty conversational, but it was also helpful and thorough. I had plenty of time to ask questions without it feeling awkward. It was a good experience overall, though I decided not to move on to a second round.

Behavioral

The interview process started with an HR phone interview that went very well. Following that, I was scheduled to meet with the CEO. However, the CEO was late and didn't apologize. They also left the room multiple times to take calls and speak with staff. It seemed like they weren't sure what they were looking for in a candidate and were unfamiliar with the position, even though the job posting was very specific. Overall, it felt unprofessional and like a waste of my time.
