First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MidOcean Partners.
Credit Analyst
The interview was mostly behavioral questions with some technical aspects. They asked a lot about my resume and life experiences, plus how I deal with stress and tough situations.
- Can you explain how to determine a company's value?
Fund Accountant
There were a bunch of questions in the interview, some about general stuff and others about tough math problems. If you get ready for this kind of interview, it can help you get better at thinking critically and answering stuff clearly and quickly when you feel pressured.
- Tell me about your expectations and goals.
Research Analyst
Applied for the role and went through 2 phone screenings. Then I had to prepare an investment memo and analysis. After that, I walked through the memo. I put in a lot of work on the memo, especially during a busy period, and then they ghosted me. The job was reposted later without any feedback.
- Could you tell me why you are interested in this specific role and Midocean?
- What is your motivation for applying to this position and to Midocean?
Investor Relations
The interview process at this ~50-person firm was quite drawn out. For this IR role, I had to meet 40-50% of the company. After meeting over a dozen people across multiple rounds, I was ghosted. Later found out most of the people I interviewed with in IR had left the team, except for one senior salesperson.
- Can you introduce yourself?
