First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Middle Seat.
Intern
The interview was pretty straightforward; it was a group interview with three interviewers where I was asked design questions. Unfortunately, I was ghosted after the interview, which felt unprofessional for that stage.
- Tell me about your teamwork experience and your past internships while I review your portfolio.
- How do you collaborate with a team, and what have you learned from previous internships?
Digital Strategist
The interview process was comprehensive but not overly challenging. They were looking for an entry-level hire, and it seemed they were a bit disappointed that I didn't have extensive knowledge in all areas. The interviewers were approachable, and the entire process was conducted virtually. After I wasn't selected for the role, I was advised to apply for the internship position.
- Could you describe your experience running paid social media ad campaigns?
Senior Account Executive
I had two interview rounds. The first was a general skills check, and the second was a more in-depth discussion with a team member. The interviewers were really nice and easy to chat with, and the whole process went super smoothly. They were also very quick to let me know if they wanted to move forward.
- Describe your ideal candidate or campaign to work on.
Digital Advertising Coordinator
I had a Zoom interview with the manager first, which went well. Then, there was another interview with a director and two digital media people, which was a good chance to talk to experienced folks. The third interview was with the director, and it felt really rigid with pointed questions, making it hard to gauge my chances. After that, I got a writing test on job-related questions. A few days later, I got a rejection email late at night. I asked for a reason but got no response, which felt strange given how communicative they were initially. They mentioned it was entry-level and they'd train, but the last interview's questions implied I needed years of experience, which was confusing.
- Tell me about a time you managed a client portfolio.
