First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Midan Marketing.
Coordinator
I had two interviews, one with HR and another with coworkers. Both were team-based. I communicated with the HR person mostly for updates and to learn about the next steps. It felt like a standard interview process.
- Can you describe your previous experiences?
Social Media Manager
I was contacted by a recruiting agency about a position with Midan. After submitting my information, I waited a week for an interview with their outsourced HR Specialist. Another week passed before I heard about the final interview with the hiring manager and a senior leader. Although I felt this interview went well, I waited another week to learn they had selected an internal candidate. This process took almost three weeks, with very little communication in between. The agency recruiter was also upset about their decision, especially since I waited over three weeks for nothing. I hope the hiring managers realize they are part of the problem in the current job market. Wasting people's time to hire internally is unacceptable.
- Can you tell me about a campaign you were particularly proud of managing?
Content Marketing Strategist
The video interview had some communication challenges due to the interviewer's attire. She wore a hat, which obscured her eyes, making it hard to connect. Her communication style came across as condescending and arrogant, especially when she described her team's rapid growth.
- I was asked to create a comprehensive project before the interview.
Account Executive
A recruiter reached out to me in July 2016 about an Account Executive role at Midan Marketing. First, the recruiter and I chatted, then I talked to the hiring manager. After those initial 1:1 chats, I had one-on-one interviews with each of the company's CEOs. Then, another interview with the hiring manager. Following that, I had group interviews via Skype with the AE team, two separate groups of 2-3 people each. The process concluded with an in-person meeting with the hiring manager and the art director. They kept saying 'This will be the last one,' but it was a long, 3-month journey with 8 interviews before I got the job offer. In this small agency, they apparently want everyone to meet potential hires, so just be ready for that.
- Have you worked as an AE previously?
- What makes you want to be an AE?
- Have you had experience working from home?
