First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mid-America Transplant.
Family Support Worker
Started with a phone screen with the recruiter, just went over my resume. Then had a second phone call with the hiring manager to talk more about my background. After that, I was invited for an onsite panel interview where they asked questions about how I've handled situations.
- Can you tell me about a situation where you had to work with a difficult person?
Data Analyst
The interview process involved multiple interviews with various team members. The department is a new one, offering potential for engaging projects. The location is quite appealing, and staff seem to enjoy living there. Some of the current employees were very welcoming.
- Interested in how I'd design a query
Business Intelligence Lead
Had an hour-long phone interview with the hiring manager first. After that, there was a 4-hour session with different people involved, like the CFO, Directors, and some of the peer group. They also offered an optional clinical observation/walkthrough. The whole thing felt pretty friendly, and they went into a lot of detail, really thorough. They gave me a case study, and I'd tell anyone going for this role to focus on the business aspects of it, not just the technical side. I actually enjoyed the whole process, even though I didn't end up getting an offer.
- For the case study on business intelligence requirements gathering, what are your thoughts and proposed actions?
- Can you walk me through your process for gathering business intelligence requirements based on the case study provided?
Director, Human Resources
This was probably one of the most unengaging interviews I've ever had. The interviewer seemed distant and less interested in getting to know me than staying within the 30 minute time. For an executive level interview, I am not certain the right questions were asked, or if there was real interest in me as a candidate, as no follow-up questions were asked or the desire to dig deeper. Much of what was asked could be found on my resume. The recruiter also didn't seem to have much information about the organization, it's structure or details about basic programs. I hung up feeling as if my interview was a formality to say a certain demographic of candidate was screened for the role, with no real desire to hire.
- Could you tell me about the size of the HR teams you managed at each of your previous roles?
