First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Micromeritics.
Assembly Technician
I came in for the interview and was asked a few basic questions. Then, I was taken on a tour of the assembly floor and given more information about the daily tasks involved in the role.
- Have you used hand tools before?
IT Manager
I went through both a phone interview and an in-person interview with several different people. Even though I was at their office, some parts of my interview were with people who were remote. I had technical difficulties because their conference room WiFi was bad. This made the whole process choppy and disorganized. They kept me waiting for several weeks, telling me I was their top candidate and that an offer was coming after the holidays.
- Could you share any experience you have working with global IT systems?
R&D Engineer
I had a phone screen with HR, then a video call with the team I'd be joining, and the last step was an in-person interview. After the in-person, they really dragged things out. I told them I had another offer and needed a quick decision, but I waited for weeks. They finally called to say an offer was coming, but then another week later they said they were scheduling more interviews.
- Can you describe how you handle specific situations?
Lab Analyst
The interview process started with the Micromeritics Analytical Services manager. He wanted to know my knowledge of the company and its products, and my start date availability. After a few more questions, I got a tour of the facility. I then met two managers who were interviewing me. It was a casual, informal interview, and a new hire joined us. They asked typical interview questions and some about my ability to do the job, like lifting and troubleshooting. This part lasted an hour. Next, I interviewed with the HR manager for about thirty minutes. She was quite reserved and just asked standard questions like, 'where do you see yourself in 10 years?'. This was followed by a background check and then an offer.
- If you entered an interview room and were asked to sit but there were no chairs, how would you handle that?
- Could you explain why you didn't think about interning with us previously?
