First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Microchip USA.
Sales Manager
It was a chatty and relaxed process with around 15 questions, covering professional scenarios and leadership questions, as well as hypothetical situations regarding deals and backend issues.
- Describe your approach to resolving a hypothetical problem with an order's backend.
Social Media Specialist
It was a two-step process. First, there was a phone call to see if I was qualified. Then, they asked me to send in my portfolio, looking for a wide range of pieces, basically whatever I had.
- Could you explain what copyrighting is and why it's important?
Business Development Representative
So the process took about a week. First, there was a phone interview with the HR Program Manager. Then, a really simple and easy assessment. After that, I had an in-person interview with the BDR manager and the sales manager. They seemed like nice people. But then, crickets... that was the poor part, no feedback or anything. Companies should have some empathy and at least reply with an email saying thanks for your time and provide feedback.
- Could you share an instance where you experienced failure in a prior role?
Sales Specialist
Had an intro phone call and then in-person interview with the CEO and another member of the leadership team. They asked a few odd-ball questions to keep me on my toes/see how I would respond. I was nervous at first, but felt a lot better once the interview got going
- They asked me a math question... basically adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing off the top of my head
