First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Microchip.
Validation Engineer
The first interview involved a brief phone call where they asked some straightforward questions about debugging, hypothetical scenarios, and your past experience. No technical questions were part of this initial interview.
- What would be your approach if a manual's documentation was incomplete?
- Describe what you would do in a specific scenario.
- Tell me about your previous work experience in the field.
FPGA Engineer
So, there were 3 rounds in total. First, they just screened the resumes. Then, I had a technical interview for about an hour, where they asked about C/C++ and OOPS concepts. The last round was a quick HR chat for 15 minutes about relocation.
- Can you explain the difference between polymorphism that occurs at runtime versus at compile time?
Software Engineer
It was a good virtual interview. First, there was an aptitude round. The next day, there was an online interview. If qualified, there was a face-to-face interview at the company.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Can you talk about your projects?
- Can you write some SQL queries?
CAE Engineer
I interviewed for a Corporate Applications Engineering role and it went well. I feel like I showed my technical knowledge, how I solve problems, and how I communicate. We talked about my previous projects, how I can adapt, and how I like to work with others. I'm eager to help the team succeed and use my skills in this busy company setting.
- Can you share details about your past projects and any internships you've completed?
