First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MICRO.
Engineer
I had a phone screen with HR first, then another phone screen with the hiring manager. After that, I went for an on-site interview. The on-site involved meeting with the hiring manager, two process engineers, and the director of manufacturing. Each of those meetings was one-on-one. The hiring manager also showed me around the site.
- Could you explain your interest in quality engineering over process engineering?
Engineering Manager
It was a multi-step process and they involved people from different teams. I had to visit 3 times, and then they called saying an offer was coming after a 4th interview. I kept asking for the actual job description, which they never sent. I wanted to see it before I went in for another half-day interview. After that, they just stopped responding.
- Tell me about your experience fitting into company culture.
- Can you give some examples of situations you've faced and how you dealt with them?
- What are your strategies for team fit?
Human Resources
My first interview was a phone screen, and it was really nice. She asked me about my past experiences. Then I went to the company's office in Somerset, NJ for the second interview. I talked to 4 different people in the HR department. They each asked me about my perspective on HR and my future aspirations. They also shared their own experiences in HR. I gained a lot of insights about the company, and it was a great experience. It felt more like a mentorship session in HR than an interview. I got the job offer a week later.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What is your motivation for pursuing a career in HR?
- Could you please walk me through your resume?
Quality Assurance Intern
We had 2 rounds. The first was an HR call, lasting 25 minutes, and the second was a technical interview, also 25 minutes, which happened 12 days after the HR call. The HR person talked mostly about the company and its projects, and also mentioned other open positions. The technical interview asked about my previous experiences and things specific to the job.
- In what ways does your coursework relate to our company's objectives?
