This whole process was a mess. It started with an unscheduled phone call from HR, no heads up at all. They asked for my availability and then scheduled an interview, only to cancel it because it was set for a bank holiday. I emailed to reschedule and didn't hear back for two weeks. On the actual interview day, the video conference link they sent me didn't work. After 15 minutes, I finally got the HR person on the phone, and it took another 15 minutes to get the team back, so I only had 30 minutes for the interview (the branch manager showed up with only 15 minutes left). In the end, I didn't get an offer because my answers weren't specific enough. Honestly, I wouldn't have taken the job anyway.

I did my homework on the company and was really keen on the role. First, there was a phone screen which went well. Then, about a week or two after, the recruiter called me. We talked for over an hour, it was super engaging and got me even more excited. After that, I got invited to a third interview, which was about a 45-minute drive away. I got there on time, ready to go. But the interviewer was over 10 minutes late and didn't even say sorry, which I thought was a bit off. The interview with her was short, only about 10 minutes, and she seemed a bit disengaged, even though she was polite. It felt like she was having an off day. A few days later, they told me they were going with other candidates, saying they needed 'more depth' in my leadership experience. This surprised me because the earlier interviews went great and I didn't really get a chance to show my leadership skills in that last short interview. It's weird because the job is still posted two months later. I think the whole process could be better organized and more consistent. People put a lot of effort into preparing for these interviews, so it would be good if all interviewers were prepared and engaged too. I was really surprised they passed on me when I'm so qualified and did well before, but the job is still open. I'm wondering what they're actually looking for.

I applied online and it took about a month to get an offer. A couple of days after applying, I had a phone interview. After that, I was invited to an in-person interview with HR and two Regional Managers, scheduled two weeks later. On my way home from that interview, I got an email for a final interview with the VPs. A few days after that, HR called with an offer. The meetings with the Regionals and VPs were a bit intimidating, but I stayed confident. They were flexible with my pre-existing commitments and my start date. Everyone was friendly and welcoming.

The interview process involved a phone screen and then two in-person interviews at their headquarters. The first in-person was with one HR Generalist, and it was pretty chill. The second in-person interview was with three HR Generalists, which felt a bit intimidating at first, but they were really nice and listened well. The first in-person interview had general intro questions, and the second one was all about behavioral questions. So, to get ready for the behavioral interviews, make sure you have your STAR stories down for teamwork, customer focus, organizing, dealing with people, and solving problems.
