First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MGE Energy.
Project Manager
I applied through a student job board and went through one interview round. It was a 40-minute meeting that covered basic behavioral questions and inquiries about my previous experiences, including working with two managers on the team. I heard back from them within two weeks.
- Can you tell me about your previous experiences?
- Describe your past experience working with two managers on the team.
Senior Consultant
First, there's a Telephonic round to go over your resume. After that, you'll have a technical On-site interview. This interview will focus heavily on your resume and work experience, with technical questions from a group of people. It's generally easy to average difficulty, and if you're well-experienced, you should be able to get through it.

Service Technician
I had 2 interviews, first a phone call, then an on-site with 3 people (1 HR, 2 managers). It was a 3-hour interview that had 2 parts: first some questions, then a computer test for general knowledge and typing, and finally a hands-on practical test to check manual dexterity. Everyone was friendly and professional. HR was great with communication about next steps.
- What are your skills relevant to this job?
Electrical Engineering Intern
The process was really quick and smooth. They had 2 phone interviews and then one in person. You'll meet with a group of engineers. The phone interviews were mainly about your experience, and the in-person one was a bit more technical and also about your future goals.
- Can you tell us about your technical background?
