First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MGAC.
Cost Consultant
The interview process was quite disorganized. There were repeated mistakes with meeting times and locations. They informed me of a start date that would not have allowed me to give my two weeks' notice. The initial salary range they offered was withdrawn, with the explanation that "we need to do more calculations." It was a bit unsettling to be told that employees regularly track their billionaire clients globally using private jet flight records.
- Are you able to read blueprints?
- What is the estimated cost per square foot for constructing a new school in the DC metropolitan area?
- Do you have any children?
Salesforce Administrator
I got the interview through a recruiter. The questions were easy to answer, and the people were friendly. The environment was pleasing. They asked finance-related questions and about different scenarios. I heard back in about 2 weeks, and the salary is competitive. A few managers were on the panel for the interview.
- Can you tell me why you left your previous job?
Project Manager
I found out about the company through their local project involvement and was really intrigued. I looked up their website, found who I thought was the right person, and asked for a networking call. We had a nice chat. Months later, the VP of Talent called me for a phone screen. After that, things moved really fast. They kept me informed about what was next and gave me feedback promptly. I had virtual meetings with some team members, and it felt like they cared about finding a good fit for me as much as I cared about finding a fit for them. The whole formal process took about two and a half weeks. I felt respected and valued throughout our conversations and how quickly they moved.
- Describe a situation where you managed multiple projects with conflicting priorities and explain your approach.
- Can you share an instance of a project problem and how you solved it?
- Tell me about a time you had to make a decision with unclear information.
Graphic Designer
I applied online for an intern role and a few weeks later, they reached out to set up an interview. Since I wasn't local, it wasn't an in-person interview. We chatted about my resume, my portfolio, my qualifications, and what I hoped to gain from the internship.
- Can you tell me about your relevant experience?
- What are your goals and what type of work are you interested in?
