This whole thing took about 7 weeks. First, I chatted with a recruiter. Then, I had a take-home task. After that, I interviewed with the hiring manager and the team, which went great – really nice people, easy to talk to. Then I had an interview with a director, which was alright, but I got the vibe they weren't prepared and weren't sure what they needed. After waiting a week and a half, I got asked to interview with the director again with just a day's notice and no agenda. The director was 5 minutes late and asked me to share work I couldn't access at that moment, which wouldn't have been an issue if I'd known ahead of time.

The interview process was pretty smooth, though there was a month-long break between the two stages due to internal changes. In both parts, I got to discuss the role's challenges and meet the team without any issues, and I didn't have to repeat any stages. The second stage was basically the final interview before they made a decision. Everyone from HR to the team members was really nice. Communication was clear and helpful, so I knew what to expect for each part of the hiring process and the job itself.

It began with a recruiter call to discuss my background, previous work, why I'm looking for a new role, and my interest in Mews. I liked that the recruiter was internal and could share real examples of the company culture. Even though I didn't fit the initial job I applied for, they found a better-suited one for me. Next, I spoke with a design director who had design systems experience. This conversation was very in-depth, covering the tools I used, my methods, and asking for examples and results of my work to understand my actual contributions and knowledge of building design systems. I thought I'd talk to the VP next, but surprisingly, I received an offer after that. Since I wanted to meet more people and learn more, we then arranged a call with two designers, a chat with the VP, and an office visit before I accepted. Throughout the entire process, everyone was friendly and open, and the recruiting team was great, responding quickly to my questions between interviews.
