I interviewed with over 15 people, some individually and some in small groups of 2. They eventually narrowed it down to two candidates, but then they told me I was overqualified. The HR team was great though; they kept me updated throughout the process and moved things along quickly. It really felt like they were eager for me to join the team.

This was the longest and worst interview process I've ever been through. It started with a recruiter call, then a zoom with my direct report. After that, I had SIX in-person interviews, and it all wrapped up with a zoom call with the founder. That's 9 interviews in total! Seriously, the day I was on-site for 6 interviews back-to-back for hours with no break was brutal. They initially said I'd meet 5 people, but after those 5, as the office was closing, they pulled me aside saying they forgot to schedule a 6th and wanted me to meet them right then. Super unprofessional, and I was totally drained, but I did it. Having so many interviews consecutively is awful. I felt like I was answering the same questions repeatedly. Why not do a group interview if you want that many people to meet a candidate? Instead, they made me go through such long hours and waste my time. The final interview with the founder was the deal-breaker, confirming I wouldn't accept an offer. All previous interviews were basically info dumps about company problems and how my role would fix them. Red flag, but the people were nice. The founder was intense, making it clear this role was about being the 'bad cop' and that he was fed up with high creative turnover. I wouldn't recommend this company or interviewing here. High expectations, low morale, and an exhausted team, which exhausted me too!

It was pretty simple, I first talked to HR, then another HR person. We chatted about the company and some of its current projects. Then they wanted me to do a design task, which I wasn't too keen on at first. But they insisted, so I had to create some Instagram stories using a basic style guide they provided with no real context. I stuck to their style exactly, and then they said my designs weren't creative enough. I'm not sure what they were looking for.

Behavioral Presentation

I was cold reached out to by the company via LinkedIn. They had a job listing up, but told me they weren't finding the right person through applications. After 3 interviews with VPs and C-suite execs, I was ghosted. Our conversations were all enthusiastic and thorough and we discussed next steps. The culture of ghosting candidates after multiple rounds of interviews, especially for a senior level role is incredibly disrespectful to the candidates' time. It takes less than 2 minutes to send a response to a follow up email to let the candidate know you're not moving forward. I was very disappointed by this experience.
