The interview process started with an initial interview at their Manhattan office. This involved a significant commute from South Jersey for what turned out to be a very brief meeting. The interviewer indicated that the next step would be another interview in Holmdel, NJ. The second interview in Holmdel had some logistical issues, as the office door was locked upon arrival and there was no receptionist, requiring a call to coordinate entry. This caused a slight delay for the interview. The interview itself involved the interviewer asking a few questions about my experience, salary expectations, proficiency with Excel, and duties related to the role. The interview concluded after about 30 minutes. Despite multiple follow-up attempts, there was no response from the company regarding the outcome. It was noted that references were contacted, but the overall communication throughout the process was poor, and a significant amount of time and money was spent on the commute and interview days without a resolution.

So I applied online and within a day or two, I got a call from the recruiter. After that, I was invited for an onsite interview. When I arrived, I had to fill out an application and a personality test before meeting someone who wasn't the hiring manager. We spoke briefly, and then I had to do this really pointless Excel assessment. They said I'd get a call to meet the hiring manager, but days passed with no contact. I had to chase them down via email and calls, and eventually, they told me they couldn't offer me the job, even though I never met the actual hiring manager. It was a super negative and unprofessional experience.

My interview experience with this company actually started a few years back. When I first applied, I got invited for an on-site interview, but the HR person didn't seem to get that I had a tight schedule and couldn't just drop everything. There was no phone screen before they set up the meeting, it was all done via email. This caused some issues, and after like 2-3 emails, they still couldn't get my scheduling right, so I passed on the opportunity. A couple years later, I encountered this company again, not remembering my previous experience. Another HR recruiter emailed me (at my work email, which isn't on my resume) to arrange a face-to-face interview; so again, no phone screen. This time, they were more flexible with my schedule, so I went for the on-site interview. Some advice: get to the building a bit earlier than you think you need to. There's security to go through, including metal detectors, and lots of visitors can show up, which eats up valuable time. Plan for that. The actual interview with the hiring managers was okay. There's a personality test that others mentioned (which seemed like a waste of time to me). It was a 2-round interview, meeting with some senior folks and some team members. Everyone seemed alright, but the cultural fit didn't really click with me. The hiring managers also needed to do a better job selling me on the position and company. They need to improve their recruiting process; HR definitely needs work.
