Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
Applications Developer
I first talked to the recruiter, then I had interviews with managers and a senior dev. It was a mix of behavioral and technical questions and lasted about an hour.
- Can you explain what an object property is?
- Describe how to call an API using Objective-C.
Software Engineer Intern
I had a one-on-one meeting with an engineering manager. They asked me general questions about my resume and some technical questions about a rail system schematic. It felt pretty casual, but in the end, I didn't get an offer.
- Do you know how to code?
- Can you tell me about your resume?
- Do you understand this rail system schematic?
Software Engineer
The interviewer wasn't very professional during this experience. I was engaged in the interview, but I accidentally turned away from the camera. The interviewer immediately called me out on it, and I found it frustrating because I wasn't sure how they knew I wasn't looking at another screen. The questions asked were pretty intimidating, and the interviewer went through my resume with a fine-tooth comb. Just a heads-up, this interview is an hour long, so you might want to have some water nearby.
- Can you define what a Business Unit is and explain its scope?
- Imagine you have three Business Units, A, B, and C. BU A needs to be unable to view BU B's records, while BU C should be able to view records from both BU A and BU B. How would you set this up?
- What kind of data is included within the IPluginExecutionContext Interface?
