First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
Civil Engineer
A panel of three lead engineers conducted the interview, asking standard questions about engineering skills and work availability. It started with a review of my education and some personal questions about my knowledge of NYC and its metro system. Then, we discussed my engineering abilities and potential work flexibility. Because this job can involve unpredictable work, they asked a lot of questions to see if I'd be okay with working in the field during non-standard hours. The interview concluded with me asking them questions.
- Can you share a technical project you're proud of that you've worked on?
Civil Engineer
The interview process involved just one in-person meeting with a project engineer. It was a pretty simple process, mostly focusing on behavioral questions, and felt pretty laid back overall. There was also a technical part to it.
- Can you discuss your previous project work?
- Can you elaborate on your work experience?
- What motivates your interest in working here?
